A Prayer of Praise
I have tried to write down a prayer of praise to the LORD, for to praise his name before putting all my burdens and thankfulness before him. I have tried to create it out of the words of Scripture. My prayer is that i may be edifying to someone else.
Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Gracious God, I call upon thy holy name.
I extol thee, my God and King, I will bless thy name forever.
O LORD, thou art righteous in all thy ways, and holy in all thy works.
The Creator of all, and the redeemer of men, and thou art nigh
unto all them that call upon thy name in truth.
O LORD, how excellent is thy name in all the earth;
may all the nations and peoples praise thy name.
Thy kingdom, O LORD, is an everlasting kingdom,
and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.
Thou art perfect in all thine attributes, greatly to be praised.
Thou art the king of glory.
I worship thee, and extol thee in the beauty of holiness.
I am overcome, LORD, because of thee, and because of the words of thy holiness.We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments. Neither have we hearkened unto thy holy Word.
O Lord to us belongeth confusion of face, because we have sinned against thee. But to thee, O LORD, belong mercies and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against thee.
Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon all them that seek for thee, for the sake of thy great mercies. I beseech thee, O LORD, who keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love thee: Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant.
O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive, O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God, for thy people are called by thy name. And blessed be the name of the LORD.
